Sarah began her career in Human Resources at companies like SiriusXM, Coach, and Gilt Groupe before transitioning to the role of Head of Sales at Gilt City—the company’s luxury lifestyle experiences arm. In this role, Sarah ran a 65-person sales team, managed $60 million in yearly revenue, and expanded the brand to top cities across the U.S. It was there that she identified the direct correlation between culture and the bottom line—when employees failed to address their issues with colleagues and managers, revenue suffered.

Before co-founding Bravely, Sarah launched an EdTech company (accepted into the acclaimed 500 Startups accelerator) that helped educate kids on the importance of environmental and wildlife conservation.
Sarah’s experience in HR, team management, and tech—combined with an ongoing obsession with helping people gain the confidence they need to find meaning in their work—inspired her to co-found Bravely in 2017.

Alex brings over 15 years of HR experience with him and has worked for companies as diverse and varied as WeWork, Blue Shield of California, NBCUniversal, Time Inc., Ogilvy & Mather and Citi.

His HR career really began at Citi, where he spent almost 5 years within the Global Wealth Management division, as an Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, supporting Private Bankers and their sales support teams.

He then joined Ogilvy & Mather, a global advertising agency for a little over two years, where he supported the North American business and some global offices, from both a HRBP and recruiting perspective.

After Ogilvy, Alex spent almost four years as an HR Director at Time Inc., formerly the publishing division of Time Warner and now part of the Meredith Corporation. He supported various leadership teams, with Global Technology being his largest and primary client. Leveraging his experience from his prior companies, Alex also acted as a diversity lead and advisor, overseeing its employee resource groups and developing key internal diversity initiatives and external partnerships.

Prior to making a cross-country move, he spent almost two years at NBCUniversal, a well-known multinational media conglomerate, as an HR Director supporting various Corporate Functions.
From there, he joined Blue Shield of California (BSC), a mission driven not-for-proflt health plan provider, where he was a Senior Director, HR Business Partner and ran the Employee Relations function.

In 2019, Alex moved back to the East Coast to join WeWork as Senior Director, Global HR Business Partner, where he headed up HR for the Development and Real Estate functions globally.

Currently, he is Partner, Head of HR, Americas for Control Risks, a specialist risk consultancy that helps to create secure, compliant and resilient organizations in an age of ever-changing risk. Working across disciplines, technologies and geographies, everything they do is based on their belief that taking risks is essential to their clients’ success. He is based out of their Los Angeles office.

A graduate of Cardiff University in Wales, Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics & History. While he has called the US home for almost 16 years, he comes from a truly international background and perspective- he is half British, half Swiss and was born & raised in Hong Kong, so traveling for work and pleasure is second nature.

A California girl born and raised, Anna was bit by the HR bug early and never looked back. She has spent most of her career on the startup scene, joining Warby Parker as one of their first People team hires and eventually moving back to Silicon Valley when missing burritos became too much to bear. Today, Anna leads People Strategy & Programs at Pinterest, alternating between thinking big thoughts about culture and the future of the work, and getting deep in the weeds building people processes and programs. Outside of work, she loves urban hiking, experimenting in the kitchen, and sneaking off to wine country as often as possible.

Annalisa Esposito Bluhm is the Head of Employee Engagement at General Motors.

Katasha Harley (she/her) is the Chief People Officer at Bravely. Prior to Bravely, she has held the positions of SVP and Head of People and Culture at Food52 and Head of Talent Development at The New York Times. With over 20 years of experience in human resources at companies such as Elizabeth Arden, KIPP NYC Charter Schools, L’Oreal USA, and Time Warner, she is often called upon to offer guidance on organizational design, employee experience and engagement, compensation, talent acquisition, and career development. Prior to her work in human resources, she was a caseworker for foster care and social work agencies. Ms. Harley is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity as well as various non-profit organizations geared towards education and the arts. Ms. Harley earned B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University, an  M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from New York University.

Lydia Dishman is Fast Company’s senior editor for growth and engagement. She has also written for CBS Moneywatch, Fortune, The Guardian, Popular Science, and the New York Times, among others.

Allison Green is Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Employee Engagement for Lincoln Financial Group. In this role, she is responsible for diversity and inclusion strategy and implementation, as well as leadership of employee engagement practices that shape company culture. She is a member of the senior Human Resources leadership team and is responsible for reporting diversity and inclusion results to the company’s Board of Directors on a routine basis.

Throughout her career, she has held positions business operations; management consulting; organizational development and design; talent management; and diversity leadership positions of increasing responsibility at well-known companies, including Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Vanguard, The Hay Group and State Farm.

Green earned her B.A. degree in psychology at Spelman College, and her M.A. in counseling psychology at Howard University.

Green currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Philadelphia, and i4cp Diversity Board of Directors. She is a member of The Forum of Executive Women, and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

She has been frequently honored as a leader in diversity both internally and externally, through various media outlets. Green is an active leader, volunteer, fund raiser and contributor to community, non-profit, and academic organizations that advocate for the welfare of children. Her philanthropic efforts support college scholarships for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
