Making Family Benefits Truly Inclusive for Working Caregivers

Family benefits have traditionally been geared toward working parents with young children. But with 1 in 5 employees caring for a loved one other than a child, such as an ill spouse, aging parent, or sibling with special needs, it’s time to expand benefits offerings to cover the full range of employees’ caregiving responsibilities–beyond family planning and formation. What kinds of additional benefits should employers consider offering? And how can organizations scale these benefits offerings in a sustainable, cost-effective way so that they are affordable–and accessible–to all employees?
