You cannot be part of community solutions without community. We often think of DEI as internal affairs and CSR as external affairs. But just as people have intersectionality, so, too, do corporate culture, philanthropy, governance, and impact. CSR cannot be effective without community leadership and inclusion, and the time has come for companies to take a closer look at the relationship between their DEI goals and their corporate social impact to gain a deeper understanding of how intersectionality applies to lasting community impact.
