Javier is director of diversity and inclusion engagement at T-Mobile USA. He brings expertise and insight in DEI from his work at Charter Communications, Amazon, Biogen, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and various Human Resources roles at Bank of America, the TJX Companies and Business for Social Responsibility.

His work over the years includes several firsts and leading-edge practices in the diversity and inclusion space. These include a Multiple Sclerosis program for underserved patient populations (MS-UP), tax benefit equality for same-sex couples, women’s leadership programs, transgender healthcare benefits, the Biodiversity Fellowship and Raising the Bar Women on Corporate Boards programs. Javier has been recognized by the Boston Business Journal with the 2014 "Leaders in Innovation Award," the Harvard Medical School Biomedical Career Sciences Program 2015 Honor Roll, the National Center for Race Amity and GK100 as a 2016 top 100 most influential leaders in Greater Boston, and Boston’s Whittier Street Health Center as a 2017 "Men’s Health Champion."

Javier earned his MBA from Boston University, a graduate certificate in Diversity Management from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad de Costa Rica. In addition, he is a coaching graduate of the Augere Foundation and Coaches Training Institute in Barcelona, Spain.

In his spare time Javier is a self-proclaimed cat entertainer, who loves traveling, independent films, theater, hikes and nature walks.
